niceLAB is our SiLA-compliant Dynamic Scheduling Software for laboratory automation systems: flexible, fault-tolerant and data-driven. With niceLAB, you can create, control and analyse workflows, save measurement data and transfer it to higher-level systems when needed. Thanks to drag & drop, devices and their functions can be intuitively integrated into the workflow and parameterised without requiring any additional software.
Everything in the Workflow – with niceLAB
- Controlling and analysing workflows
- Saving and transferring measurement data
- Integration of any SiLA-compliant devices
- Intuitive user interface
Features of niceLAB
With niceLAB, controlling and optimising complex laboratory processes is easier than ever. The software combines dynamic scheduling, comprehensive process analysis and user-friendly self-integration of devices.
The scheduler maximises resource utilisation through parallel execution of tasks and prevents deadlocks. Features such as device grouping and user-defined events ensure maximum flexibility. For an optimal overview, processes are visualised in Gantt charts — both live and for subsequent analysis.
All actions and data are logged in detail in a database. Data from devices such as readers is additionally visualised online. The integrated SiLA error handling allows errors to be resolved efficiently, so that workflows can be resumed quickly.
Integrating new devices is straightforward and requires no additional software development. Via the SiLA interface, functions and parameters are automatically detected and added to the database. A graphical configuration manager supports system setup, allowing you to connect your devices quickly and effortlessly.
SiLA Device Driver
The Association Consortium Standardization in Lab Automation (SiLA) has developed a standard for the interface between devices and control software. This standard (SiLA Device Control & Data Interface Specification, DCDIS) is freely available and can be downloaded from the SiLA website by registered users.
EQUIcon is a member of the SiLA Consortium, which develops these standards. On this basis, we have implemented this standard for a range of devices used in laboratory automation systems and offer SiLA Device Drivers for Windows operating systems. These can be used in systems controlled by the scheduling software niceLAB or other SiLA-compliant applications.
